I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from NAU in May 2021. Over the last two years in the M.A. Professional Writing Program, I accumulated a portfolio of work to demonstrate my capabilities as a Technical Writer.

ADVANCED TECHNICAL WRITING

The first course I took in the Master’s program was called “Advanced Technical Writing.” I was granted special permission to take the course during my undergrad, here is where I found my passion for technical writing.

During the class, we focused on the specifics of writing memos, headlines, the decimal system, and the layout of documents. One project we completed focused on the description of operating two different smoke detectors.

The other project was a technical memo that followed a case study about a lab technician’s replacement recommendation for shared lab equipment.

Both projects represent the valuable techniques and document construction that I learned early on in my ambition for higher education.

MANAGING A TEAM OF WRITERS

I lead a team of Undergraduates on three different projects featured on the website, iFixit. Together, we successfully published an instruction manual, SEO optimization, and edited a web post.
